Job Summary:
The Wind Turbine OEM Compliance & Quality Engineering Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality assurance, and continuous improvement in the design, manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of wind turbines. This role involves leading a team of quality and compliance engineers, working closely with regulatory bodies, and driving initiatives to enhance product reliability, safety, and performance. This role will work in conjunction with other MYSE team members and the quality and technical departments of the parent company, to ensure successful delivery of the solutions in the contracted windfarm projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance & Certification:
- Ensure wind turbines comply with international and regional regulations (IEC 61400, ISO 900, DNV-GL, TÜV, CE, etc.).
- Lead certification processes for wind turbine designs and modifications, coordinating with external certification bodies.
- Stay updated on evolving industry standards and regulatory requirements, integrating them into company processes.
- Collaborate with legal, engineering, and manufacturing teams to address compliance issues.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Develop and oversee the implementation of quality management systems (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 and industry best practices in the European region.
- Work with the parent company to adapt and optimize QMS for a smooth transfer and use in the European region. Contribute and lead optimizations in the currently deployed solutions.
- Ensure robust quality control processes in design, manufacturing, and field operations to minimize defects and failures.
- Implement supplier quality programs to monitor and enhance component quality from external vendors.
- Lead internal and external audits to assess compliance with quality standards.
EHS and sustainability
- Deploy a culture of safety and risk avoidance through all the organization.
- Secure culture of safety as a key priority is applied by all suppliers as well as customers in the projects to deliver
- Perform internal and external audits to identify EHS risks in the project and design operations.
- Develop and maintain EHS registers and metrics. Promote action plans to improve figures and risk reductions
Risk Management & Reliability Engineering:
- Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and risk assessments for turbine components and systems.
- Oversee root cause analysis and corrective action plans for field failures and quality incidents.
- Develop metrics for tracking performance and lead action plans to secure proper improvements.
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, etc.) to drive operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Lead and mentor a team of compliance and quality engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and field service teams to ensure quality and compliance integration.
- Drive quality-focused initiatives across the organization, aligning with business goals and sustainability targets.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify and implement new quality control technologies
- Develop data-driven strategies to enhance product quality and reduce production costs.
- Promote a proactive approach to compliance and quality, minimizing risks and improving efficiency.
- Promote a culture of quality and safety across the company.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in quality, compliance, or reliability engineering within the wind energy or renewable energy sector.
- 5+ years in a leadership or senior management role.
- Experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and certification processes for wind turbines or heavy industrial equipment.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Expertise in ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficiency in quality control tools, root cause analysis techniques, and statistical analysis software.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with global teams.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Six Sigma (Black Belt ) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
- Experience with offshore wind turbine quality, safety and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with digital quality management systems and AI-driven predictive maintenance tools.
Skills:
- Ability to work with no supervision with an international team and to establish good team working relations is essential

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- You need to communicate and present well, feeling sure when talking to and presenting to external stakeholders, such as customers and grid operators
- Good technical skills with a focus on creative solutions and motivation to meet customer needs
- Ability to summarize technical topics for non-technical stakeholders
- Highly structured and well organized
- Good travel disposition (about 15% of time) in support of customer needs and overall business objectives Hybrid work environment with frequent travel to project sites, supplier facilities, and logistics hubs.
- Field presence required during critical transport, installation, and maintenance operations.
