About the Role

As one of the world's leading engineering and digital transformation services providers, we are expanding our Data Practice across Western Europe to meet increasing client demand. We are seeking a data industry leader to join our Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (ML/AI) Practice, focusing on leading and growing the business in Western Europe. You will report to the Global Head of Data Science in the US and manage a growing team.

This role offers opportunities to influence growth strategies and shape our Data Science ML/AI business. We are open to hiring in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, or other Western European locations for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

1. Lead the Western European Data Science, ML/AI Practice
2. Collaborate with global and European teams to expand our footprint
3. Drive competency development in Generative AI, Advanced Analytics, Computer Vision, NLP, Data, MLOps, LLMOps, Responsible AI, ESG, AI Security
4. Develop enterprise transformation offerings with AI as a key driver
5. Lead cross-organizational teams to promote an AI-first product vision
6. Define AI's impact on productivity within client organizations
7. Engage with clients at C-level to deliver AI solutions and maintain relationships
8. Support sales activities including RFP responses and proposals
9. Manage and mentor a European data team from Lead Data Scientists to Senior Directors
10. Stay updated on ML/AI advancements and recommend new approaches
11. Represent EPAM at industry events and conferences

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong hands-on data science background and understanding of AI/ML technologies
• Knowledge of MLOps, Data Platforms
• Visionary leader with experience in driving Data Science, ML/AI practices in consulting
• Extensive experience in data technology and business engagement
• Proven track record in ML/AI solution implementation
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and secure project funding
• Exceptional client engagement skills at C-level
• Innovative thinking and ability to drive complex initiatives
• Hands-on technical expertise is essential
• Fluent in German and English
