MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The German Reviewer is responsible for maintaining the overall quality of their language at an account level. The Multimedia Content Reviewer will write and review German linguistic content to ensure high accuracy for clients using multimedia platforms. Over time, they will become cultural ambassadors for their language market, producing fully localized content and identifying cultural issues, offering suggestions to make content appropriate for target markets.

The ideal candidate has a background in journalism or similar fields, proven creative writing skills, and a keen eye for detail. A passion for music, film, tech, and familiarity with iOS and Mac OS devices is also desirable.

MAIN DUTIES

The following responsibilities are part of this role:

1. Localize, translate, and adapt content across various categories, adhering to style guides and guidelines.
2. Create new copy for multimedia products such as music, TV, app store apps, video on-demand, and gaming subscriptions.
3. Review linguistic work of oneself and team members for all content types.
4. Copy-edit and fact-check content for accuracy.
5. Perform Localization QA (LQA) testing on live content.
6. Conduct market-specific research on content trends and localization practices.
7. Transcribe spoken content like lyrics.
8. Report on data and assets across media types.
9. Review linguistic assessments, create training materials, and ensure team training on terminology and style.
10. Collaborate with global teams via virtual meetings and emails to ensure consistency and market insights.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in journalism, copywriting, or media content editing, with writing samples.
• Experience in translation and localization of multimedia content.
• Ability to identify issues quickly and make sound judgments.
• Knowledge of music artists, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
• Ability to own the language market and make confident linguistic decisions.
• Highly detail-oriented with multitasking and deadline management skills.
• Native in German and fluent in English.
• Strong computer literacy; knowledge of iOS/macOS is a plus.
• Capable of typing in native language using a standard keyboard.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Team-oriented and comfortable in a multicultural environment.
