MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

The German Reviewer is responsible for the overall quality of their language at an account level.

In this exciting position, the German Multimedia Content Reviewer will be writing and reviewing linguistic content in German to ensure the highest quality of accuracy for customers using the world's foremost multimedia platforms.

With time, the Multimedia Content Reviewer will become the cultural ambassador for their language market and will be expected to produce fully localized content and flag potential cultural issues with content types, wording, and articulate suggestions to make all content appropriate and relevant for the target markets.

The ideal candidate possesses a background in journalism or similar, has proven creative writing skills, and a keen attention to detail. In addition, we’re seeking candidates that are passionate about music, film, and tech and have a knack for iOS and Mac OS devices.

MAIN DUTIES

The following is a non-exhaustive list of responsibilities and areas of ownership for this role:

- Localize, translate, and adapt content of various categories (i.e., multimedia, legal, technical, marketing, etc.) while adhering to style guides and guidelines.

- Write new copy for a range of multimedia products such as music, TV, app store apps, video on-demand, and game subscriptions services.

- Perform regular linguistic review of your own work and that of other localization team members for all content types.

- Copy-edit and fact-check content to ensure accuracy.

- Perform LQA (Localization QA) testing of content published on live platforms (music and app descriptions, marketing material, campaigns).

- Conduct market-specific research on local content treatment, content, product, and terminology trends for the target audience.

- Transcribe spoken content such as lyrics.

- Report on data and assets across various media and content types.

- Review linguistic assessments, create training materials, and ensure team members are trained on terminology, style, and best practices.

- Collaborate with global language teams via virtual meetings and emails to calibrate terminology and style, understand trends, and gather market-specific insights.

REQUIREMENTS

• BS/BA and 2+ years of experience in journalism, copywriting, or copyediting media content such as music, TV, and applications, with proof of writing samples.
• Experience in translation and localization of multimedia content.
• Ability to detect issues and inconsistencies quickly and make sound judgments.
• Wide knowledge of music artists, TV, cinema, gaming, and pop culture.
• Ability to own the language market and make confident linguistic decisions.
• Highly detail-oriented with multitasking, prioritization, and deadline skills.
• Native in German and fluent in English.
• Strong computer literacy; knowledge of iOS/macOS systems is a plus.
• Capable of typing fluently in native language using a local keyboard.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.
• Team-oriented and enjoys working in multicultural environments.
