This position is part of our Safety Business Unit, which aims to enable safer, greener, and more inclusive industries and transportation systems.

At our Donauwörth site, located on the river Danube, we support Airbus Helicopters in developing helicopters from concept to flightworthy product. Watch them take off and land on our on-site test airfield.

Task description:

  • Manage mass and balance parameters during aircraft development
  • Optimize mission configuration strategies for decision-making and weight/balance assurance
  • Support the offers department with technical data and tenders
  • Collaborate with design, testing, production, and support teams
  • Contribute to aircraft architecture trade-offs and data prediction before delivery
  • Improve weighing processes and tools, including predictive methods
  • Generate reports and monitor project progress
  • Maintain communication with stakeholders

Required qualifications:

Completed degree in aeronautics, mechanical engineering, or related fields, or vocational training with extensive specialization. Alternative pathways for acquiring necessary knowledge are also acceptable.

Required expertise:

  • Experience in aeronautics, design/development, or equipment integration
  • Knowledge of stress calculation software (Abaqus, Hypermesh, Samcef) is beneficial
  • Experience with mass properties calculations in aeronautics is useful
  • Knowledge of helicopters, aircraft architecture, and flight missions is a plus
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 is advantageous
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Analytical, structured, proactive, and autonomous working style
  • Strong communication skills and team orientation
  • Fluent in English and German; French is a plus
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
