Job summary

cylib GmbH is seeking a Waste Officer to coordinate disposal at sites in Aachen, Dormagen and Wernberg-Köblitz. You will manage waste verification documents and operate the eANV (preferably ZEDAL), ensuring compliance with EU and German waste regulations and lead cross-border shipment notifications.

You will inspect waste processes, prepare EfB audits, and serve as the central contact for waste questions, collaborating with authorities and external partners.

Qualifications

• Technical or scientific degree in environmental, process, materials or waste management engineering or comparable qualification.
• Certified as a Waste Officer under AbfBeauftrV.
• At least 3 years of professional waste management experience in industry or EfB-certified company.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate waste disposal at sites in Aachen, Dormagen and Wernberg-Köblitz, from selecting disposal companies to waste verification documents.
• Operate the electronic waste verification system (eANV), ideally ZEDAL, with waste verification and accompanying documents.
• Deliver waste-related inspections and track measures until implementation.
• Ensure compliance with KrWG, NachwV, GewAbfV, AVV, EfBV and EU waste-shipment rules.
• Prepare audits for certified waste management companies (EfB) and support them.
• Prepare notifications for cross-border waste shipments within and outside the EU.
• Prepare waste descriptions and related analyses.
• Act as central contact for waste queries and coordinate with dangerous goods officers and partners.

• Youoperateourelectronicwasteverificationsystem(eANV)inZEDAL.
• Youtakeontheroleofwasteofficer,conductwaste-relatedsiteinspectionsandtrackderivedmeasuresuntiltheyareimplemented.
• You ensure compliance with waste regulations, including the Commercial Waste Ordinance (GewAbfV) and the Waste Catalogue Ordinance (AVV).
• Youpreparetheauditforcertifiedwastemanagementcompanies(EfB)andsupportit.
• Youpreparenotificationsforcross-borderwasteshipmentswithinandoutsidetheEU.
• Youpreparewastedescriptions,includingtherequiredanalyses.
• You are the central point of contact for waste-related questions, build up our knowledge management in this area, and coordinate with the dangerous goods officer and our external partners.

Your profile

• Youhaveatechnicalorscientificdegree,forexampleinenvironmental,process,rawmaterialsorwastemanagementengineering,oracomparablequalification.
• YouholdthecertifiedexpertiseasawasteofficerundertheWasteOfficerOrdinance(AbfBeauftrV).
• Youhaveatleastthreeyearsofprofessionalexperienceinwastemanagementatanindustrialcompanyoracertifiedwastemanagementcompany(EfB).
• You have a sound knowledge of waste law, in particular the Circular Economy Act (KrWG), the Waste Verification Ordinance (NachwV), the Commercial Waste Ordinance (GewAbfV), the Waste Catalogue Ordinance (AVV), the EfB Ordinance (EfbV) and the EU waste shipment regulations.
• You have hands-on experience with the electronic waste verification system (eANV), ideally ZEDAL, with waste verification and accompanying documents, waste descriptions, and supporting EfB audits.
• Experiencewithnotificationprocedures,dangerousgoodsregulations(ADR),orintherecycling,batteryorchemicalindustriesisanadvantage.
• Youworkinastructuredandindependentwayandcommunicateclearlywithauthorities,wastedisposalcompaniesandoperationalteams.
• YouarewillingtotravelbetweenoursitesinAachen,DormagenandWernberg-Köblitz.
• You are fluent in German and have good English skills.
