Responsible for assisting the Manager in supporting all Shipping, Receiving, and Stock Room functions to ensure effective team operations and achievement of performance targets. The Logistics Team Leader assists with employee training and must perform all functions in Shipping, Receiving, and the Stock Room. Ensures compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
Professional Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High School diploma (Hochschulreife) required.
- Certification in IATA and ATR must be completed within the first six months.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- At least three (3) years of experience in Shipping/Receiving/Stock Room or manufacturing-related roles.
- Minimum three (3) years of supervisory or group leader experience.

Position Responsibilities
Shipping
- Oversee the accurate staging, picking, packing, labeling, and shipping of customer orders, manuals, publications, spares, accessories, and service/repair orders, complying with shipping regulations and procedures.
- Process customer orders, verifying details against quotations, special shipping conditions, backorders, and pricing before dispatch.
- Understand and adhere to carrier requirements for domestic and international shipments, including ATR and IATA regulations.
- Prepare shipping documents and coordinate with carriers, customers, freight forwarders, and distributors. Determine shipment methods and packing materials as needed.
- Manage information requests about order status and shipping dates.
- Ensure proper labeling, including Dangerous Goods, Hazardous, and Fragile Materials.
- Handle packing slips and pick lists, inputting data into LI-COR and freight systems like Dachser/FEDEX.
- Estimate weights and calculate shipping costs accurately.
- Procure necessary tools and equipment.
- Address quality control issues and parts concerns, coordinating with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Respond to ISO corrective actions related to shipping.
- Maintain shipping and packing equipment.
- Review shipping methods and practices regularly, recommending improvements. Track KPIs and report on them.
- Manage Engineering Change Orders related to shipping.
- Handle ERP and related system administration.
Receiving
- Supervise and assist in managing incoming parts, materials, and orders, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Ensure inspections follow procedures and initiate NCMRs for defective parts, with proper follow-up.
- Route parts for inspection as needed and assist with stocking for manufacturing, engineering, and other departments.
- Ensure parts are properly labeled and delivered to the Stock Room.
- Assist with the receipt of repair or service instruments and accessories.
Stock Room
- Oversee Stock Room activities, including inventory cycle counts and audits, verifying accuracy and investigating discrepancies.
- Provide service to Stock Room customers.
- Maintain organized, labeled shelves and accessible parts storage.
- Ensure accurate issue and receipt transactions in the system.
- Efficiently pick and kit parts for work orders, implementing process improvements.
- Identify and report nonconforming materials via NCMRs.
- Properly mark and label stock parts, ensuring proper rotation and condition.
- Inspect stock items for damage or wear, reporting issues.
- Coordinate transfer of raw parts to local businesses and manage shipment of defective parts.
- Innovate Stock Room practices, including the design of Smart Carts and Floor Stocking.
Additional
- Assist in cross-training employees for operational efficiency and serve as backup for other functions.
- Operate all material handling equipment safely.
- Monitor inventory levels, reorder supplies as needed, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
