Join our System Engineering team as a V.I.E Support for the Train Performance Manager (TPM) in Mannheim if you are interested in locomotive development.

As a VIE, you will support the TPM in ensuring train performance meets customer, operational, and regulatory requirements, aligning with product safety, project goals for quality, cost, duration, and cybersecurity.

Support for the TPM in the following Tasks:

  • Assist vehicle and subsystem design to meet defined targets.
  • Convert customer and regulatory requirements into train-level requirements and technical specifications, complying with Alstom standards and managing costs and time to market.
  • Derive and ensure consistency of subsystem requirements and specifications.
  • Define the train-level Verification and Validation strategy to demonstrate compliance with customer and design requirements, involving stakeholders and managing requirements using tools like IBM DOORS and RTC.
  • Contribute to certification and authorization processes, including evidence planning, preparing evidence documents, and impact analyses, in collaboration with certification experts.
  • Provide functional reports to the Chief of Development within the Rolling Stock Engineering Organization.
  • Act as the main technical contact for communication with the customer regarding train performance and technical topics.

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Railway System) or related field.
  • Knowledge of norms and standards is a plus.
  • Strong system thinking and engineering experience.
  • Experience with model-based development is beneficial.
  • Fluent English required; German language skills are a plus.
  • Experience with DOORS is advantageous.
  • Curiosity about locomotive products and development.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills.
