Join our System Engineering team as V.I.E Support for Train Performance Manager (TPM) in Mannheim if you're interested in locomotive development.

As a VIE, you will support the TPM in ensuring train performance meets customer, operational, and regulatory requirements, aligning with product safety, project quality, cost, duration, and cybersecurity standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting vehicle and subsystem design to meet targets
  • Converting customer and regulatory requirements into train-level requirements and technical specifications, compliant with Alstom standards, to control costs and time-to-market
  • Deriving and ensuring consistency of subsystem requirements and specifications
  • Defining the verification and validation strategy at the train level, managing stakeholder contributions, and ensuring requirements are met
  • Supporting certification and authorization processes, including evidence planning and impact analyses
  • Reporting functionally to the Chief of Development within the Rolling Stock Engineering Organization
  • Acting as the main technical contact for customer communication regarding train performance and technical topics

Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic, Railway Systems) or related field
  • Knowledge of norms and standards is a plus
  • Strong system thinking and engineering experience
  • Experience with model-based development is beneficial
  • Fluent English required; German skills are a plus
  • Experience with DOORS is advantageous
  • Curiosity about locomotive products and development
  • Good communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills
  • Proactive, autonomous, and positive attitude
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, changing environments
