Our Live & VoD Playout team develops and operates a unique, cloud based system stack which provides live streaming of more than 300 live streams (24x7 and events) and VOD playout for our consumer platforms in the DACH region like Joyn, ProSieben, Sat.1, KabelEins, Sixx, RAN etc.
We're searching for a skilled Video Software Engineer to become part of our team.

In this position, you work within our hybrid model “Highly Remote”. You can work mostly remote within Germany. You can find all information here. The contractually agreed place of work will be Unterföhring near Munich or Berlin. Possible travel costs to the place of work will not be reimbursed.

What you can expect in this role

• You architect, implement and run video services at a really large scale, using modern cloud infrastructure and within a passionate team
• You understand user, product and business needs and find appropriate technical solutions, using a well-balanced combination of in-house and off-the-shelf technologies
• Also, you craft groundbreaking features that allow ProSiebenSat.1 to stay on top of the latest in streaming technologies in a rapidly changing industry
• You dig into the details of latest video standards, CDN’s, DRM systems and cloud services to find glitches and race conditions

Your essential experience and education

• You have multiple years of professional working experience as a Engineer in digital businesses with an agile mindset
• You are fluent in C and Go or similar systems-level programming language with a passion for writing high-performance, efficient code
• Also, you have experience with streaming protocols like HLS, LL-HLS, MPEG-DASH, CMAF and with Digital Rights Management Systems (DRM), like Playready, Widevine & FairPlay
• You bring knowledge of FFmpeg/Libav APIs and experience maintaining Libav-based solutions in production and experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
• Fluent verbal and written English skills are required, German language skills are a plus
