Reporting to the Head of Video Sales Specialist Northern Europe, the Video Sales Specialist (VSS) Manager is a new role responsible for leading a team of video experts in Germany. We seek an established industry expert within the streaming and video space to spearhead sales of Amazon's video advertising solutions - spanning Prime Video, Live Sport, Twitch, OLV, and third-party video publishers within the Amazon DSP.

The VSS team, part of the Global Video Advertising and Partnership Team (GVAP), has a mission to help customers unlock the full potential of Amazon Ads video solutions to deliver video goals. Working in collaboration with the vertical sales teams to drive adoption of Amazon Ads' video solutions, VSS acts as domain experts, providing scalable insight, case studies, and strategic pitches tailored to the needs of German customers. VSS is primarily a customer-facing unit (70% of time), functioning as thought leaders and experts to address complex objections and empower sales through knowledge and strategies. They work closely with the Video Strategy Go-to-Market (VSGTM) team to ensure GTM strategies are aligned with the nuances of German customers, accelerating product adoption. The team aims to establish Amazon Ads as video thought-leaders and a center of excellence, fostering a deeper understanding of Amazon Ads video solutions.

Key job responsibilities
  • Act as a thought leader and senior executive within Amazon Ads.
  • Drive the overall sales function, sales vision, and value proposition to grow our video sales approach across all video properties.
  • Drive adoption of Amazon's video advertising solutions.
  • Lead and manage a team of 6 Senior Video Sales Specialists.
  • Collaborate with VSGTM to contribute to the strategy for positioning, pricing, packaging, and planning of Amazon's Video advertising solutions.
  • Drive innovation positioning Amazon Ads as a streaming and video leader.
  • Apply a deep understanding of all 1P and 3P measurement tools.
  • Promote Amazon DSP adoption.
  • Deliver the German Brand Partnership goal and develop branded integration opportunities and sponsorships.
  • Hire, develop, and lead the growing team of specialists.
  • Deliver pitches and strategic initiatives to drive revenue and exceed goals.
  • Utilize Sales CRM and other mechanisms to track account information and sales progress.
  • Capture customer and partner feedback to inform and improve video solutions.
  • Create mechanisms to monitor progress and keep stakeholders informed and motivated.
  • Engage with internal teams including product, GTM, AEs, and AMs to meet customer needs.
  • Represent Amazon at industry events.
  • Deliver training initiatives to enhance sales competency.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a sales and strategic leadership background in video (TV/digital/streaming) to drive Amazon Ads' video advertising evolution.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience.
  • Experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Experience hiring and retaining sales talent.
  • 10+ years selling video media across agencies and advertisers.
  • Experience engaging with C-Level relationships.
  • Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders across sales, account management, and product teams.
  • Experience building and deploying GTM strategies focusing on packaging, positioning, and messaging.
  • Proven ability to close sales and generate revenue, with a focus on long-term customer outcomes.
  • Ability to handle customer objections and suggest solutions to maximize partnerships.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced proficiency in German and English.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex topics clearly in person and in writing.
  • Strong analytical skills with confidence in data usage.
  • Experience with programmatic DSP and SSP.
