Next Ventures is forming a Forward Deployed Engineering division in Munich to partner with private equity portfolio companies on enterprise AI transformations. We seek a VP to recruit and lead an elite team, aligning with C-suite priorities to deploy AI across business operations.

You'll shape the operating model, governance, and engineering standards for a new AI organisation, delivering AI programmes from discovery to production and translating complex business problems into scalable AI

We're building a new Forward Deployed Engineering division focused on delivering enterprise AI transformation for private equity portfolio businesses.

We're looking for a VP who can build and lead an elite team of Forward Deployed Engineers while partnering directly with C-level executives to deploy AI into real business operations.

This is a rare opportunity to build an organisation from the ground up, combining engineering leadership, enterprise consulting and AI product delivery.

What we're looking for

• Experience building and leading high-performing engineering or Forward Deployed Engineering teams
• Strong software engineering background with Python and modern AI technologies
• Hands-on experience delivering production AI systems using LLMs, AI agents, RAG architectures and orchestration frameworks
• Deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Consulting experience is essential
• Exceptional client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable operating with senior executives and technical teams alike
• Fluent German and English

• Experience at an AI-native company
• Background in strategy consulting, digital transformation or enterprise technology
