One Thousand in Germany is hiring for a client-facing role that blends AI strategy with hands-on delivery. You’ll join a lean team of 35 engineers delivering breakthroughs by collaborating with clients in the room, turning discussions into working prototypes by Friday.

You’ll guide projects from PoC to production, building data pipelines, ML workflows, and deploying web services on cloud platforms (Azure), ensuring real business value for corporates, Mittelstand, NGOs, and the public sector.

Qualifikationen

• 3+ years of professional experience building scalable, production-grade software.
• Hands-on ML in production: model training, deployment, monitoring; proficient with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
• Strong Python and SQL: solid foundations, clean code, good engineering instincts.
• Cloud and web experience: at least one cloud platform (preferably Azure), secure web app setup, PostgreSQL.
• You run multiple Claude Code instances in parallel and feel frustrated when you can't.
• You've created proper evals and let AI agents cook for 30+ minutes.

What the role is about

No playbook exists. You'll write it.

You don't build from a distance. You sit with the client, understand their world, and ship solutions in the room. You're the person who turns a messy whiteboard session on Monday into a working prototype by Friday and make the client feel like they built it with you, not for them.

Here's what that looks like day to day:

• You orchestrate agents to build what teams used to build by hand: faster, sharper, at a scale that wasn't possible before
• You shape fast-paced AI breakthrough projects from PoC to production-ready MVP, ensuring they generate real business value
• You build data pipelines, run ML workflows, develop and deploy web services on cloud environments (preferably Azure)
• You support integration with client systems and make sure what we ship actually holds up in the real world
• You work embedded in one of our squads: close to the action, with short decision paths and real ownership
• You bring AI to organizations that need it most: corporates, Mittelstand, scale-ups, NGOs, and the public sector
• You help shape who we are – internally and externally – as a key contributor in a fast-growing company

What you bring

Travel

This role requires being on-site with clients around 50% of the time. You're comfortable with that – and ideally, you see it as a feature, not a bug.
