Stott and May is partnering with a seed-funded Munich AI startup to recruit a Forward Deployed Engineer for the founding team. You will own enterprise customer implementations, integrating AI solutions and collaborating with founders across product, engineering, and customer success.

In this hybrid Munich role, equity is on offer alongside a competitive salary. German and English language proficiency at C1 is required, with a strong customer-facing mindset and startup pace.

Job Description

Forward Deployed Engineer (Founding Team)

Location: Munich (Hybrid)

Salary: €80,000-110,000 + Equity

Language: German (minimum C1), English (minimum C1)

We're partnering with a seed-funded AI startup in Munich that's building an enterprise AI platform already used by major customers. Following strong commercial traction they are already at 7-figures ARR and looking for the first Forward Deployed Engineer to own customer implementations and help scale the next phase of growth.

This is a high-impact role working directly with the founders at the intersection of engineering, product and customer success.

What You'll Do

• Own enterprise customer implementations from POC through to long-term deployment.
• Integrate AI solutions into customer systems and workflows.
• Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements and solve complex problems.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to improve the platform.
• Turn customer feedback into product improvements.
• Become a trusted technical partner for enterprise customers.

What They're Looking For

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role (Solutions Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, Technical Consultant, Solutions Architect, Implementation Consultant or similar).
• Strong understanding of APIs, integrations and JSON.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• German (minimum C1), English (minimum C1)
• Product mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
• High agency and comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup.
• Previous startup, consulting or enterprise SaaS experience is highly beneficial.

You do not need to be writing production code every day, but you should be technically credible and comfortable discussing architecture and integrations.
