UniversalAutomation.org (UAO) is an independent, non-for-profit association driving the adoption of a common automation layer across automation systems and suppliers, to achieve an ecosystem of portable, interoperable, “plug and produce” solutions.
In the Global Account Manager - Vendors role, you will be responsible for achieving UAO’s yearly targets of vendor recruiting and UAO offers.
The right candidate will be based in Europe, a highly driven and energetic professional with the ambition to enable and transition the automation market towards software-defined automation, aiming to improve the Industry’s return on investment, optimize operations, and achieve true IT-OT convergence.
Job Description :
- Act as an owner of UAO Vendor Recruitment Goals
- Identify new target vendors proactively through all available channels to grow the pipeline
- Follow up consistently and maintain an updated pipeline
- Develop trusted relationships at various organizational levels within prospect members
- Create tailored closing plans for prospect vendors, utilizing negotiation techniques to close tier memberships and achieve KPIs
- Collaborate with Marketing, Vendor Support, and Member Success teams to onboard new vendors and support them in launching UAO offers
- Attend events to support business development, increase market awareness, and meet prospects
- Stay informed about market developments, vendor strategies, and industry news
- Share insights and ideas from the field with the UAO team
Job Requirements :
- Completed technical Degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s)
- At least 5 years of experience in the automation industry, including Industrial Control Systems, software, solution selling, and account planning
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior-level stakeholders and serve as a trusted partner
- Entrepreneurial mindset with motivation to achieve goals
- Strategic, critical thinking, and growth-oriented mindset
- Structured and disciplined work approach
- Reliability and teamwork orientation
- Resilience and adaptability to complex and stressful situations
- Strong English communication skills; additional languages like German are a plus
Technical Skills (Must) :
- Understanding of computers and software, including operating systems, embedded devices, and embedded software, essential for marketing and sales pitches
- Knowledge of IoT, IIoT, Industry 4.0, and Edge Computing architectures and use cases
- Understanding of Industrial Control Systems architectures and components
- Familiarity with standards like IEC 61131-3, IEC 61499, OPC UA, MTP, NAMUR, etc., is valuable
Technical Skills (Nice to have):
- Experience with engineering and commissioning of SCADA, PLC, or DCS solutions
- Hands-on programming experience with PLC or DCS
- Basic programming skills in high-level languages
