• As a VAT Accountant, you are responsible for the timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, advance VAT returns, recapitulative statements, Intrastat returns, and the corresponding accounting mapping.
• You focus on the continuous optimization of the technical applications used, such as Tax Compliance Management.
• You support the automation of existing workflows and define new processes creatively.
• This role involves direct contact with sales tax experts, finance departments of BASF Group companies, and IT.
• Qualifications include a degree in economics with a focus on taxation, or comparable training or examination as a tax assistant.
• Ideally, you have some professional experience in sales tax/financial accounting or a strong interest in learning this area.
• Good understanding of automated processes and MS Excel is required.
• Practical experience with SAP R/3 or SAP HANA is preferred.
• You should demonstrate initiative and decision-making willingness.
• Strong communication skills in German and English are essential; additional European languages are a plus.
• The position offers location-independent work models with some presence in Berlin and residence in Germany.
