About the V-Label
The V-Label is an internationally recognized and protected trademark for labeling vegetarian and vegan products, in use since 1996. ProVeg e.V. is responsible for awarding the V-Label in Germany. ProVeg is a food organization dedicated to transforming the global food system by replacing animal-based foods with plant-based and cell-cultivated alternatives.
Role Summary
As a V-Label Specialist in Product Development (all genders), you will be part of our Non-Food team and support the development of new product categories. From market analysis and idea generation to handover to relevant departments, you will accompany the entire development process. You will work closely with the team leadership to shape the product strategy and drive innovation. The Product Development team at the V-Label is a pioneer in the field and has already achieved a lot in recent years. In this role, you will have the opportunity to build on a strong foundation and actively contribute to the further development of innovative products.

Reports to: V-Label Senior Manager Product Development
Department: V-Label
Location: Berlin or Remote in Germany
Working Hours: 35 - 40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Market and Trend Analysis: Identification of new areas, market opportunities, and customer needs
- Innovation Management: Development and evaluation of innovative product concepts
- Product Strategy: Deriving innovation strategies and business cases
- Prototyping & Testing: Supporting the development and validation of products
- Project Management: In collaboration with the team lead: Managing innovation projects until handover to internal departments. Best practices from other non-food categories exist and can serve as a guideline.
- Stakeholder Management: Close cooperation with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Quality Management) and external partners (licensees, startups, universities, tech providers)
- Go-to-Market Strategies: Supporting the market launch of new categories and projects
- Performance Measurement: Analyzing and optimizing the performance of new products
- Audit Tasks: Involvement in regular audit processes to ensure quality standards
- Team Support: Supporting the non-food team in cross-departmental projects
Qualifications
- You have a completed bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Technology and Innovation Management, or a comparable field.
- You bring up to 2 years of professional experience, ideally in project or quality management.
- You have excellent German skills (C2) and solid English skills (C1).
- You are willing to travel within Germany (e.g., for occasional meetings, trade fairs, conferences).
- You work in a structured, reliable, and detail- and solution-oriented manner.
- You have a strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills.
- You possess a high level of resilience, a hands-on mentality, and remain friendly even in stressful situations.
- You work independently and creatively, and you have strong organizational skills.
- You are a team player and enjoy remote work, especially if you don't live in Berlin.
Nice-to-have:- You have initial experience in quality or project management.
- You have knowledge of the textile industry or materials science (e.g., cosmetics, textiles, printed materials).
- You have an understanding of supply chain management.
- You have experience with industry awards and the submission processes.
