About the Role

The Utilities Director will lead engagement with utilities and power generation developers across Yondr's Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) footprint. The role involves leading utilities due diligence, developing & executing infrastructure strategies for potential Yondr data center sites across EMEA.

Work closely with key stakeholders including Development, Design, Construction, Legal, Finance, and Operations to secure utilities and ensure the interconnection of Yondr data center projects to the local utilities grid.

Develop power strategies, solutions, and agreements with relevant parties to ensure early access to power for Yondr Data Center sites.

Lead negotiations and execution of connection agreements, working with Yondr Capital Projects to deliver utility connections.

Success in this role requires a strong background in utility connections (HV), the ability to work in a dynamic, global organization, and a desire to learn and innovate. Knowledge of infrastructure for Data Center or similar mission-critical sites, including utilities, power networks, and due diligence, is preferred.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Support the development of Yondr's growth strategy, focusing on site acquisition suitable for data center development.
  2. Manage utilities due diligence processes and support risk-based investment approaches.
  3. Formalize infrastructure delivery scope, obtain quotes, perform project savings analysis, and support project approval processes.
  4. Build relationships with customers, agents, utilities, investment agencies, municipalities, and landowners to enable projects.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Construction, Business, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in English and at least one European language (e.g., German, Spanish, French), both written and spoken.
  • 6+ years of experience working with or for utilities within EMEA.
  • Engineering, construction, or project management experience in the utility industry.
  • Commercial skills to review utility fees/tariffs and connection agreements.
  • Ability to self-start and motivate in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Additional Qualifications and Experience
  • Master's Degree (MBA/MS) preferred.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent project management training.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services.
