A Union Diesel Mechanic will work under the supervision of a Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic. The apprentice shall be assigned work typically performed by a Journeyman Mechanic, with the goal of becoming a qualified Journeyman Mechanic upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform general maintenance and minor repairs.
2. Assist the Leadman or Journeyman Mechanic(s).
3. Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
4. Inspect protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, making adjustments as needed.
5. Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Trade school graduate.
3. At least 1 year of mechanical experience.
4. Ongoing training suitable for apprenticeship level.
