Kalypso Media Group is an independent publisher and developer of interactive entertainment software with more than 200 employees at a total of ten locations in Germany, England, France, the USA and Japan. Five of the Group's development studios in Germany and France, together with other international games developers, ensure a steady stream of new computer and video games for all modern premium platforms, such as the world‑famous "Tropico" series, "Commandos" and "Railway Empire".

To strengthen our team at our subsidiary Claymore Game Studios GmbH in Darmstadt (Germany), we are looking for a UI/UX Designer (m/f/d) to start as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of UI/UX principles
• Strong visual design skills, capable of creating mockups with tools like Figma
• Experience in creating and implementing UI assets in UE5
• Ability to create graphical assets for the proposed UIs
• Experienced in the creation of design documentation and communicating the requirements and goals to the team
• Good verbal and written language skills in English, German is a plus
• Problem‑solving attitude and the ability to quickly familiarize with new technical skills
• Passion for games and game development
• Prior experience in the gaming industry

Responsibilities

• Create concepts, prototypes, user flows, mockups and UI/UX documentation for existing and new features
• Design UI and Menu layers in tools like Figma
• Implement the proposed designs in UE5 in collaboration with the tech department
• Create the required graphics for UI elements
• Communicate with art and tech to collaborate on more evolved assets and implementations
• Communicate and discuss UI concepts with your team lead
• Have an eye on the games overall UI/UX and highlight potential issues
• Use the data from usability testing to refine the designs
• Proactively propose and evaluate design improvements
