Heath develops and manufactures its equipment in its own world-class facility located in Houston, TX. This role is based on-site in Berlin, CT with a good amount of over night travel involved.

The On-Site Technician repairs customers and Heath Field personnel’s instruments and installs Mobile units used by the Utility industry to identify natural gas leaks. The ideal candidate’s essential experience would include Data Entry, Electronic repair/troubleshooting, Mechanical experience and Teamwork. This individual will be required to travel to customers’ facilities to perform installations, repairs, calibrations and certifications and when not traveling cross train on multiple instruments to fill in when needed. This includes travel during the week where you will need to be away from home for a few days at a time.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform final testing and calibration on instruments during repair.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instruments at multiple location using mobile repair van.
  • Ability to properly monitor and schedule mobile repair routes for customers efficiently.
  • Provide proper customer service and technical support when needed.
  • Install and transfer mobile units on vehicles as requested by customers.
  • Complete necessary documentation.
  • Report improper operations, defective materials and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Recommend improvements in quality, procedures, components, and processes.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations and maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent .
  • Not afraid to learn new skills quickly.
  • 1 to 3 years’ years’ experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in on-site repairs or traveling to customer sites
  • Must be computer literate
  • Holds a legal driver’s license, can drive company vehicles.

  • Ability to travel and be away from home during the week(about 40-50% of the time)

Pay Range: $25-$28 per hour (depending on experience level with repairing electronics)

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7 am-3:30 pm plus overtime required to account for travel and time sensitive repairs.
