As a Transportation Area Manager, you will be a responsible and accountable leader for a team of associates within Germany. You will oversee operations and engagement during your shift, aiming to optimize associates' experience and performance, focusing on load planning, efficiency, and safety.
This team is entrepreneurial, wears many hats, and works in a highly collaborative environment. We seek candidates with a safety-focused, customer-obsessed background in transportation and logistics, experienced in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
The TAP scope includes executing Over the Road journeys (middle mile linehaul) and Shunting with Amazon Associates trained to become fully qualified TAP Drivers (TD). Our vision is to provide a world-class employment experience in a modern, technology-driven environment prioritizing safety.

The team will spend time between the office in Dortmund (1-2 days/week) and four sites within the DTM cluster (DTM1, DTM2, DTM9, PAD1), with travel reimbursement for personal car mileage. Full onboarding and training will be provided, including travel to the UK for shadowing with experienced teams.
You’ll work in shifts at one of our sites, focusing on safety, quality, and performance. Your role includes managing operations, improving processes, and mentoring new managers. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, is required due to the 24/7 operation.
Travel across four Amazon facilities in Dortmund is expected, with a typical schedule of 1-2 days in the office and the rest at facilities. Flexibility to start and end your day at different locations is necessary.
The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team plays a vital role using air, sea, and road transport, as well as sortation centers, to ensure efficient delivery. The team leverages data for decision-making, prioritizes safety, and strives for innovation and efficiency.
