As a Transportation Area Manager, you will be a responsible and accountable leader for a team of associates in a cluster within Germany. You will own the operations and engagement of your shift, aiming to optimize associates' experience and performance in conjunction with load planning and efficiency, with a focus on safety.
This team is entrepreneurial, wears many hats, and works in a highly collaborative environment. TAP scope includes executing Over the Road journeys (middle mile linehaul) and Shunting with Amazon Associates who are trained to become fully qualified TAP Drivers (TD). Our vision is to provide a world-class employment experience in a modern, technology-driven environment that prioritizes safety.

The team will spend time between the office (in central Dortmund, 1-2 days/week) and 4 sites within the DTM cluster (DTM1, DTM2, DTM9, PAD1), with travel expenses reimbursed. Full onboarding and training will be provided, including travel to the UK for shadowing and development.
You’ll work in shifts at one of our sites, focusing on safety, quality, and performance. Your role includes managing your team, process improvements, and operational contingency tasks. You will also mentor new managers.
Facilities operate 24/7, and schedules may vary across day, mid, and night shifts, including weekends. Flexibility is required.
You will travel across 4 Amazon facilities in Dortmund (DTM1, DTM2, DTM9, PAD1), splitting time between the office and sites. Flexibility to start and end your day at different locations is essential.
