Network Operations and Services Engineers provide 24/7 first and second level technical support to customers globally. This includes network monitoring, fault resolution, and the provision of bespoke charged solution support and management.

Technical Service and Support under the guidance of Team Leader and Manager, Premium Network Services.

Responsibilities
  1. Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve faults across a pan-European MPLS infrastructure and a range of Optical and Ethernet services in accordance with product SLAs through to 3rd level support.
  2. Have good knowledge or experience with Optical and Ethernet based networks.
  3. Maintain extensive knowledge of customer-specific networks and services.
  4. Provide a professional interface to customers as a single point of contact for all their issues.
  5. Establish and maintain relationships with key partners and vendors.
  6. Coordinate tasks with field service or 3rd level support.
  7. Maintain accurate incident records and provide updates using Colt's fault management system.
  8. Resolve or escalate faults as per SLAs.
  9. Identify, plan, and implement solutions to recurring problems in Optical and Ethernet networks.
  10. Generate technical reports for customers upon request.
  11. Manage software upgrades in coordination with vendors and Colt teams.
Essential Requirements
  • Excellent understanding and experience with MSP, Ethernet, DWDM systems: implementation, commissioning, maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting.
  • Experience with network management via GUI and CLI.
  • Experience with vendors like ADVA, Ciena, Accedian, Infinera, Nokia, Nortel.
  • Experience working in a telecom/IT helpdesk environment and with global network providers, NOC, and field support teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with responsibility and ownership.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to learn quickly and make decisions efficiently.
  • Team spirit.
  • Fluent German (C1) and at least B1 English.
Desirable
  • Experience with Layer 3 services and technologies.
  • Understanding of IP fundamentals, protocols, and experience with IP, MPLS, VPN solutions.
  • Experience with ITIL.

Education
