Are looking at taking the first step in your career or looking for a change of direction and want to develop your skills and confidence within a workplace, Tool Connection are offering a fantastic opportunity to participate in our Trainee Programme.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving local business, where you will have chance to try different trades and skills. Each department will offer a different understanding of the business.

Placements run for 18 months

Working within 6 areas of the business in blocks of 10 weeks

With an additional 3 option blocks of 6 weeks – where you get to select areas of interest, that are not covered in the main scheme.

We currently have two schemes available:

Our Sales trainees work with all departments closely contented to Sales, that might be on the road with our sales teams, visiting customers with our mobile showrooms, hosting customers in our showroom, to processing orders, technical support, aftercare and the finance element of customer accounts.
You will be working with the following departments:

Customer Service, External sales for our Laser tools brand, eCommerce, Credit control, technical assistance, Sales and customer service for our Power TEC brand, Showroom and fleet management, Service and repair and Marketing. With a choice of department during your option blocks: Purchasing and Product Branding, Quality and environment, IT or Warehouse.

• Core Operations Trainee

Our Core Operations trainees work with the main departments involved with the day to day running of head office. For example: recruiting staff, training teams, health and safety, ordering products, stock takes, marketing products, advertising, taking orders and customer service.

You will be working with the following departments:

Human Resources and Operations, Finance, Warehouse administration, Purchasing and Product Branding, Finance and Credit Control, Marketing and Customer Service Desk.
With a choice of department during your option blocks: Quality and environment, IT, Warehouse, Service and repair, External sales with our Laser or Power TEC brands.

A mentor will be designated to you who will provide you with guidance and support within each department and help you during your training programme journey.
If successful at the end of the scheme, you will have the opportunity to move into a full employment with the company in the area you have excelled in or have a special interest in. At this point we will offer you the chance to undertake a Vocational Qualification if desired.

The schemes are aimed at those who are yet to discover their own path in the world of work – no formal qualifications are required.

During these sessions your mentors will also provide some guidance on soft skills and dealing with a variety of situations in the workplace – all designed to set you up well for when you potentially take on a full-time role in the business.
