PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Train System Engineer for Brake & Air supply is the expert of the scope of a number of brake systems and functionalities. The Train System Engineer manages the activities related to the System Engineering process in a standardization perspective to ensure:

  1. Full integration of operability requirements related to his scope
  2. Full integration of Brake & Air supply Dependability Performance
  3. Control Command and Architecture to Brake & Air supply are integrated
  4. Complete and correct set of functional features assigned from Operability are formalized into a Vehicle Concept Definition
  5. Definition of high-level open-standard Train System Engineer solution including variability model (at functional level)
  6. Validation of the defined concept per platform

The Train System Engineer Brake & Air supply acts as the main technical internal referent concerning Train System Engineer definition in product families. He/She owns requirements related to functional features related to Brake & Air supply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Define and maintain the functional features catalogue per platform, ensuring their proper value for the final users.
  2. Ensure standardization of Brake & Air supply across platform and product families by applying maximum extent of standardized vehicle function within railway rolling stock project or bid.
  3. Promote generic Vehicle Concept Definition of Brake & Air supply.
  4. Act as the design authority for all elements concerning functional integration to ensure requirements and design integrity of the scope are fulfilled. Responsible to take key technical decisions concerning Brake & Air supply including functional changes at vehicle level and approval of critical integration documents (e.g. requirements allocation, functional concepts, test plan).
  5. Participate in internal design reviews and ensure the lessons learned from previous projects are well integrated.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Master or Bachelor degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Work experience of typically more than 5 years.
  3. Previous working experience in auxiliary systems.
  4. MS Office, DOORs.
  5. Desired competences: team player, communication, flexibility.
