Role Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Market Analysts, Traders, and Originators in a dynamic trading environment.
  • Monitor and interpret weather data to provide accurate forecasts.
  • Build and maintain databases for model testing and analysis.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and technology in weather forecasting.
  • Communicate effectively within a team, with early morning shifts typical.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with numerical weather prediction models and forecasting techniques.
  • Knowledge of weather/climate models and data formats.
  • Experience in synoptic weather forecasting, ideally in renewables, aviation, or civil services.
  • Understanding of climate indices, teleconnections, and seasonal projections.
  • Skills in time series analysis, multivariate statistics, Python, MATLAB, and MS Office.
  • Optional experience in energy markets or commodity trading.
  • Degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric, or Climate Sciences.
  • Fluent in English; willingness to work on holidays or weekends occasionally.
