About the RoleThe role ensures compliance with Essity's Trade Compliance program, regulations and controls, by overseeing and managing all import/export day-to-day operations for the Medical division.
What you will do- Responsible for implementation of Essity's Trade Compliance program within the Medical division.
- Responsible for trade compliance with Customs and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Partner with corporate functions such as Legal, Finance, Tax, Sourcing and Supply Chain to ensure alignment of supply chain and business compliance with regulatory requirements and identifies and suggests opportunities to reduce duty-impact (manufacturing footprint, intl. sourcing-strategies, duty optimization)
- Manage performance and provide oversight of Essity's customs brokers, including performance KPI's, contract and fee negotiations.
- Manage post declaration reviews and implement mitigation or corrective actions, as required.
- Responsible for implementing procedures to prevent, identify, correct and mitigate risk to Essity's import/export operations by conducting risk-based assessments in accordance with company procedures.
- Coordinate and communicate Supply Chain Security requirements to participating sites. Manage the content of the annual certification process (AEO, CTPAT) and Customs revalidations.
- Coordinate and support any internal, external and government compliance disclosure, inspection, investigation, assessment, and audit as required and respond to applicable requests.
- Establish training requirements and conduct training for relevant personnel.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global trade policies, regulations, national and international guidelines, and industry standards and assures compliance with federal, local and corporate policies, regulations, and laws.

- University degree in relevant field of study or equivalent practical work experience required.
- Customs Broker License or equivalent credentials required
- 5+ years' experience working in Trade Compliance
- Experience leading others is highly preferred
- Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them to applicable business procedures
- Experience working cross-culturally with global teams
- Able to lead in an environment with ambiguity and change without direct leadership
