Your tasks

Background The Mover from HOLON is a fully electric, autonomous, and inclusive shuttle that makes sustainable mobility suitable for everyday urban use. In electrically powered vehicles, the thermal management system is of central importance for conditioning the battery and for climate control of the passenger cabin. The efficient design and optimization of such systems are carried out using numerical methods. For this purpose, within the scope of this thesis, a 1-D simulation of the entire thermal management system of the HOLON Mover shall be developed and validated in order to subsequently use it for efficiency improvement measures.

  • You model the entire Mover thermal management system with all relevant coolant circuits and components in MATLAB Simulink
  • You record the relevant thermal boundary conditions and properties of the system components and fluids
  • You verify individual components in your 1D simulation and validate the overall model
  • You develop interfaces for integration into the overall vehicle model
  • You identify optimization potentials to increase the efficiency of the overall system
