Thermal Engineer (m/f/d)

Your Tasks

• Conceptual design of thermal control systems for space missions including:
• Definition of thermal control concepts
• Checking of feasibility, critical aspects and design margins
• Definition of hardware requirements
• Maintenance of thermal control system budgets
• Analysis of the Thermal Control System (TCS) including:
• Establishing and maintenance of thermal models (GMM and TMM)
• Definition of critical mission environments (supported by trade studies if necessary)
• Conduction of thermal analyses
• Definition and conduction of trade studies to support thermal design decisions
• Definition and derivation of thermal environments for subsystems of the analyzed subsystem
• Definition and modelling of thermal test environments
• Thermal Test predictions and Thermal Model correlations
• Writing of thermal technical reports
• Generation of input for technical specifications
• Presentation of the TCS design and analysis results in internal and external meetings
• Definition of thermal hardware components and coordination of thermal hardware suppliers
• Participation in thermal test campaigns

Your Qualifications

• University degree or equivalent qualification in physics or aerospace engineering
• Working knowledge of the main European thermal analysis tools (ESATAN-TMS)
• Teamwork abilities
• Several years of experience in thermal design and analysis in the aerospace industry
• Thermal hardware knowledge
• Very good English skills, both written and verbal
• Good programming experience

An advantage would be:

• Experience with thermal tests
• MATLAB, FeMap and/or HyperMesh experience
• Knowledge of German
