trivago in Düsseldorf is looking for a motivated computer science student to join the Advertiser Quality team as an intern. You will learn how a data‑driven company operates, work with real data, and help build and test data extraction and validation systems.
The role offers hands‑on experience with data extraction pipelines and collaboration with developers, DevOps, and data scientists, along with flexible hours of at least 15 hours per week and a range of learning opportunities.

trivago is a data driven company. The quality of the user experience in its website depends, among other factors, on the accuracy of the data that is displayed on it. To keep a high level of accuracy, the Advertiser Quality team builds systems that extract, parse and store information about the rates that are offered by the different advertisers in trivago. While our systems already extract and monitor large amounts of data, there are still improvements to be made and new sources of data to be integrated. We are looking for people that know the fundamentals of programming, like challenges and love learning by doing to join our team of 8 colleagues.
Set and maintain a test suite in order to ensure a proper price accuracy on trivago’s platform
Use scripting and querying to improve processes and simplify data analysis
Communicate with other teams and external partners to follow up on issues found during testing
Execute daily checks of core metrics
Assist developers by handling simple programming tasks
You’ll learn how a data driven company works internally and how decisions are made
You’ll get hands‑on experience with advanced data extraction systems
You’ll get to closely work with experienced developers, DevOps engineers and data scientists
You’ll also get experience in collaborating within a dynamic and international team
We are looking for a computer science (or similar field) student with the following skills:
Working knowledge of one programming language (no experience required)
Basic knowledge of SQL
Ability to make decisions in a data driven manner
Ability to work effectively in a cross‑functional team
Your working schedule in our team is flexible, but we would like you to work at least 15 hours a week.
