Head of Products and Equipment (m / w / d)

Your role includes:
- Leading the business line disciplinarily and professionally, ensuring the strategic development and expansion of the team.
- Developing skills in project management for products and equipment, including automation and solutions in special machine development. This involves cross-departmental projects, including software development, e.g., in the context of “Industry 4.0” with an agile mindset.
- Ensuring technical solutions meet all requirements (time, cost, quality) in conception, implementation, and integration.
- Working closely with relevant stakeholders in projects and operations.
- Ensuring adherence to applicable guidelines and processes.
- Ensuring the availability of necessary skills and resources at the right time, and coordinating collaboration with external partners.
- Taking responsibility for new and ongoing developments and resource sustainability of Products & Equipment, including automation solutions for measuring devices and machines, to achieve project and company goals.
- Observing the market and further developing the product range in automation and robotics.
- Initiating and monitoring R&D projects within the team across all field activities of Testia.
- Securing external funding from customers and governmental agencies as appropriate.
- Ensuring technology development aligns with the milestone and TRL rules of Testia.
- Maintaining time, cost, and quality standards in R&D projects.
- Contributing creatively within the management team and reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Your profile:
- Successfully completed studies in mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
- Knowledge of automation, basic welding, and bus systems/interfaces is desirable.
- Experience in NDT, automation, and PLC systems (Siemens / Simatic S7; B&R Automation Studio; Beckhoff / CoDeSys, WinCC, WinCC flexible).
- Experience in assessing, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting automation solutions.
- Proven project management experience in complex automation projects, using both classic and agile approaches, with distributed teams and development partners.
- Experience in leading funded R&D projects.
- Strong leadership skills demonstrated through team and project management.
- Independent, structured working style with strong analytical skills and high reliability.
- Advanced negotiation skills in English and German; additional languages like French and/or Spanish are a plus.
