Qualifikationen

  • Mindestens 2 Jahre Erfahrung in der Eisenbahn-, Verteidigungs- oder Automobilbranche.
  • Erfahrung in der technischen Führung von Ingenieuren oder Technikern.

Aufgaben

  • Leitung des Testlabors und Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von Standards.
  • Organisation von Wartung und Instandhaltung der Testinfrastruktur.

Could you be the full-time Test Laboratory Manager (f/m/d) in Mannheim we’re looking for?

Your Future Role

In Mannheim, over 1000 colleagues from 36 different countries work together to develop locomotives, as well as signal and propulsion technology for vehicles that are deployed both regionally and worldwide. Our product line Rolling Stock & Components offers products from the broadest portfolio in the rail industry. Our innovation focus is on green and smart solutions, including emission-free propulsion systems such as batteries and hydrogen. You’ll report to Traction Validation Métier Manager and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.

We’ll look for you to:
  • Manage the Test Laboratory.
  • Ensure the rooms and operating equipment within the laboratory are in good condition and permitted for use.
  • Comply with standards, laws, and directives.
  • Oversee laboratory operations in the Power Lab, Battery Laboratory, and Climate Laboratory.
  • Exercise authority over all individuals present in the laboratory.
  • Interrupt tests if the safety of personnel working in the laboratory is at risk.
  • Organize maintenance and upkeep of the testing infrastructure in the Power Lab and Battery Laboratory.
  • Conduct annual training for electrical specialists in the group to maintain their expertise.
  • Fulfill Homebase responsibilities and deploy suitable employees to sub-projects alongside the Traction Validation Metier Manager.
  • Prepare and make priority decisions during resource shortages, possibly consulting with the Traction Validation Metier Manager.
  • Be responsible for the cost center results and manage the investment planning of the department.
  • Ensure the use of cross-project standard solutions.
  • Create and review concepts for testing infrastructure, considering technical status, applicable standards, and costs.
  • Design and develop process descriptions, procedural and work instructions, as well as associated tools like templates and checklists.
  • Draft proposals.
  • Ensure the delivery of safety training for laboratory users.
  • Participate in safety and environmental protection matters.
  • Carry out design tasks for testing infrastructure and its components while adhering to current technology standards and applicable norms within the specified deadlines and cost frame.
  • Implement design concepts in testing facilities.
  • Commission new testing facilities.
  • Maintain and uphold the testing infrastructure in the Power Lab and Battery Laboratory.
  • Conduct safety training for laboratory users.
  • Obtain quotes and coordinate them with group management.
  • Collaborate on safety and environmental protection matters with the group management.
  • Support experiments, type tests, and system tests according to test specifications.

  • A Bachelor, Technical, or Master Degree in Electrical.
  • Hardware and software background.
  • First experience in technical or disciplinary leading of engineers or technicians.
  • Practical experience on testing phases (minimum of 2 years’ experience in Railway, Defense, Aeronautical, Automotive domains).
  • Structured working method, result and process-oriented with a desire to manage employees.
  • Experience in employee and work package planning.
  • Managing work packages for external customers.
  • Quality-oriented working style.
  • Experience in an international working environment.
  • Fluent in English and German.
