High Voltage (HV) Tendering Engineer - Europe

Germany (remote working)

About the Role :

Our client is a global multidisciplined inspection, testing and consulting organisation. Due to continued growth we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tendering Engineer to develop a tendering portfolio across a wide range of High Voltage activities in Europe. This role involves preparing tenders for clients in Germany and other European countries, focusing on high voltage cable testing for both AC and DC systems. You will liaise with technical HV experts and the project management team to ensure competitive and compliant proposals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead new opportunities for High Voltage Testing and Asset Management Consultancy projects ranging from €15K to €2M.
  • Review and interpret tender documents, including technical specifications, drawings, and commercial terms.
  • Work collaboratively with global services and suppliers to deliver optimised tenders on time and within client budgets.
  • Identify value engineering or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Recognise risks, opportunities, and key differentiators during the bid process.
  • Understand the commercial fundamentals of projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project, and commercial teams to prepare tender documents and value propositions for clients.
  • Liaise and coordinate with subcontractors and subconsultants on technical and commercial matters during tender preparation.
  • Engage with the supply chain to establish cost-effective, innovative solutions for clients, ensuring technical compliance.
  • Attend and lead tender handover meetings.
  • Manage client interactions during the tender and post-tender stages, including clarifications.
  • Compile and assess technical submittals and tender returns.
  • Work closely with the UK Tendering Engineer and European Sales team on commercial proposals.
  • Adhere to relevant business procedures, including health and safety compliance, and address any non-compliance.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and organisation of events, including attending industry events and conferences.
  • Build strong client relationships and become a trusted point of contact for key accounts, clearly communicating service value propositions.

Person Specification :

  • 3–7 years of experience in tendering, estimation, or proposal management within an engineering or construction company.
  • Experience in the Transmission & Distribution field is desirable but not essential.
  • Fluent in German.
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or suitable relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is a plus.
  • Strong IT skills and professional acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple tenders spanning several disciplines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible to travel as required.
