Job summary

Pentagon Technical Services Ltd seeks an experienced Telecoms Package Manager to lead the delivery of telecoms systems for a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. You will drive planning, installation, testing, commissioning and handover, coordinating with electrical, mechanical, BMS and security teams to meet programme and quality targets.

You will manage specialist subcontractors, review technical submissions and drive safe, compliant execution on site, with strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Telecoms/ELV manager or similar.
• Experience on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of telecoms/ICT infrastructure and installation.
• Experience coordinating telecoms works within a complex MEP environment.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the delivery of the telecoms package on site.
• Manage telecoms subcontractors and specialist installation teams.
• Coordinate telecoms works with electrical, mechanical, BMS, security and other project packages.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements and submissions.
• Monitor installation progress against the project programme.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries and installation requirements.
• Ensure works comply with approved designs, specs and project standards.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, variations and design changes.
• Coordinate inspections, quality checks and installation sign-offs.
• Oversee testing and handover activities.

Location: Frankfurt, Germany

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Telecoms Package Manager to join a major data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of the telecoms package from planning and coordination through installation, testing, commissioning and handover. You will work closely with the wider project team, specialist contractors, consultants and client representatives to ensure the telecoms systems are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the delivery of the telecoms package on site.
• Manage telecoms subcontractors and specialist installation teams.
• Coordinate telecoms works with electrical, mechanical, BMS, security and other project packages.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements and technical submissions.
• Monitor installation progress against the project programme.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries and installation requirements.
• Ensure telecoms works are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and project standards.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, variations and design changes.
• Coordinate inspections, quality checks and installation sign-offs.
• Oversee testing, commissioning and integrated systems testing where required.
• Ensure all documentation, test records, as-built drawings and handover documentation are completed.
• Attend progress meetings with the main contractor, client, consultants and subcontractors.
• Identify programme risks, technical issues and potential delays and drive solutions.
• Ensure all works comply with German regulations, project HSE requirements and client standards.
• Support project close-out and final handover.

• Patch panels and network infrastructure
• Backbone and horizontal cabling
• Telecoms testing and certification
• BMS/ICT interfaces
• Security and ELV interfaces

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Telecoms Package Manager, Telecoms Manager, ELV Manager or similar.
• Previous experience working on large-scale construction or data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of telecoms/ICT infrastructure and installation.
• Experience managing specialist subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
• Strong understanding of construction programmes, drawings, specifications and QA/QC processes.
• Experience coordinating telecoms works within a complex MEP environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, programme-driven project environment.
• Strong understanding of health & safety requirements on major construction projects.
• Experience with commissioning and handover would be advantageous.
• Data centre experience is highly desirable.
• German language skills are advantageous but not essential.
