We are looking for a Technology Insight Engineer - Leased Labor 18 months (m / f / d) to join the Jena Research Center and contribute to optics-related innovation.

Responsibilities

• Engage with top optics and photonics technology insight, assess breakthroughs, and drive innovation.
• Identify and collect information from top universities, enterprises, and startups on optics topics (optical communications, display, AR / VR, optical sensing, imaging, etc.) based on product direction.
• Attend technical talks, obtain latest academic developments, and write timely analysis reports to propose high-value technology ideas.
• Provide insights and technical recommendations on emerging trends and their business impact.
• Organize internal knowledge-sharing events, seminars, and workshops.
• Assist in identifying valuable technical leads, tracking their value, and promoting technical cooperation and project initiation.
• Assist in internal reporting and communication with teams.
• Establish connections with academic organizations (e.g., IEEE Photonics, EOS, PhotonHUB) and engage with core members and experts.
• Coordinate with universities and enterprises to organize insight activities, including demonstrations and workshops.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Optics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree required or higher; Ph.D. in physics or optics preferred.
• Strong expertise in optical communication, display, AR / VR, optical sensing, and imaging technologies; industry experience preferred.
• Solid knowledge in short-reach optical communication, data center interconnects, photonic components, fiber networks, etc.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess technical breakthroughs and commercial potential.
• Strong problem-identification and analytical abilities with a systematic, goal-oriented approach.
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken); German or other languages a plus.
