Jobtailor seeks an experienced health communications editor to manage the end-to-end production of scientific reports. You will edit, format, and validate content while coordinating authors and production teams to meet publication deadlines.

The role requires strong editing skills, adherence to style guidelines, and project-management experience, with proficiency in Word, Acrobat, and InCopy. Collaboration and 508 remediation will be part of your responsibilities.

Qualifikationen

• 3 years of professional writing and editing experience focused on health communications.
• Demonstrated expertise in technical editing, proofreading, and producing clear, accurate data-focused content for diverse audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to style guidelines.

• Develop, document, and maintain production schedules based on fixed publication deadlines.
• Establish, track, and communicate project milestones from report initiation through final dissemination.
• Monitor workflow using approved job tracking systems and file retention procedures.
• Perform substantive and technical editing of complex scientific reports using Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InCopy.
• Provide expertise in style guides and ensure compliance with style guides and plain language standards.
• Review and correct medical and scientific terminology.
• Edit and format narrative text, tables, figures, references, graphics, and supplementary materials.
• Serve as primary liaison between authors and production staff.
• Consolidate, communicate, and reconcile reviewer comments.
• Advise authors regarding edits, revisions, and publication requirements.
• Collaborate on layout and design, corrections, 508 remediation, and web posting.
• Track and manage corrections through final approval for accuracy and version control.
• Transmit, store, and archive deliverables according to recordkeeping and electronic file management procedures.
• Coordinate and manage web posting.
• Verify accuracy and functionality of published online content.
• Support submission and indexing of published reports in Stacks and PubMed.
• Ensure metadata and documentation are complete and accurate.
• Meet production deadlines for editing, review, clearance, and publication milestones.
• Participate in recurring team and staff meetings.
