Jobbeschreibung

Support technically all commercial activities pre and post sales, in particular sell existing products and solutions from a technical standpoint, support to innovation activities, technical support to customers, complaints investigation, product benchmarking and technical lobbying towards market stakeholders.

Your position is very international and challenging, you will provide technical support to customers throughout Europe. In particular - because you are fluent in German - you will take care of our customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland (Area D-A-CH).

A relocation to the Rhineland / Ruhr area (near to our Office in Oberhausen, a meeting point of your colleagues) is welcome. Otherwise your home-based office should be near a city with good international connections (airport, central train station etc.).

Your responsibilities

Participate in client discussions on identified opportunities by the Sales Manager

Work closely with the sales manager to support the development process of the customer along the opportunity process until final application (incl. leading trial management, managing qualification process at customers)

Identify technical opportunities with existing products to optimise value proposition

Identifies the right opportunities for organic growth through technical discussions and act as project manager for large technical development projects in collaboration with the R&D teams

Perform benchmarking analysis of Imerys and competitors products, alternative technologies and new commercial products from customers to support structuring of product offering and positioning

Identify unmet technical needs of customers and therefore potential new products / solutions

Translate performance requirements into product specification requirements

Lead trial management at the customer site and supervise trials at Imerys plant on new products

Act as technical ambassador (customer technical training, participation in external knowledge sharing, fairs & conferences, standardisation committee, etc.)

Your profile

Master’s Degree in Engineering in Material Science, Ceramics, Mineral Chemistry

Several years of job experience

Strong competencies and experience in Technical support and / or Customer application management

Market knowledge required for Refractory / High-Temperature applications for Iron & Steel, Aluminum, Cement, Glass, Petrochem, Foundries applications

Technical background required on Refractory Minerals : Aluminosilicates (Clays, Chamottes, Andalusite, Mullite), Fused Minerals (White and Brown Fused Aluminas, Tabular Aluminas, Zircon), Calcium Aluminate specialty binders, Magnesia (Spinel)...

Good Communication skills with customers and with technical committees

Flexibility, resilience, pro-activity, autonomous and motivation

Taste for challenges - entrepreneurial mentality

Salesforce knowledge would be an advantage

Mandatory use of German (fluent, technical and commercial)

Regular business trips (up to 60%)
