The Senior Technical Service Technologist, Category Dairy and Dairy, represents Ingredion and provides technical support, including on-site visits, development of new concepts, and bringing the latest innovations and products to strategic and partner dairy customers and internal sales channels.

The incumbent is responsible for identifying project opportunities at select accounts, developing solutions to address specific needs, working towards successful commercial implementation, and building strategic customer relationships.

Additionally, the Senior Technical Service Technologist collaborates, plans, and conducts laboratory trials to identify product innovation and create formulations that demonstrate the value of our solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Customer Technical Support: Act as a technical liaison for selected accounts, managing requests and opportunities effectively. Organize customer visits and visits to Ingredion Idea Labs, including planning trials, meetings, and events. Use laboratory and pilot plant equipment to conduct trials, evaluate products, and diagnose problems. Review customer processes and formulations to make timely recommendations that meet customer needs for cost savings, quality improvements, or product innovation.
  2. Application Development: Lead technical activities to deliver concept developments and associated content demonstrating innovative ingredient or food system functionality within identified sub-applications. Propose ideas and incorporate customer feedback for new concepts or improvements.
  3. Business Development: Work closely with Sales and technical teams to develop business, update, and implement technical strategies. Build strong relationships within customer organizations at multiple levels.
  4. Knowledge Sharing and Management: Record and share relevant customer activities and project updates using designated knowledge management tools.
  5. Values and Purpose: Demonstrate leadership in our EHS program, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Excellence initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Degree (BSc or MSc) or equivalent in Food Technology, Food Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience in R&D, Technical Service, or Applications in specialty food ingredients
  • Strong knowledge of interactions among food ingredients, ingredient systems, and food processing
  • Practical understanding of equipment and technologies for laboratory and pilot plant trials
  • Excellent analytical, monitoring, and reporting skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel regularly within Europe to customer sites

Desirable Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of dairy and dairy alternatives processing, ingredient functionality, and interactions
  • Proficiency in a second European language
