Sappi Biotech is hiring a Technical Sales Manager for our Valida product. The role involves developing a new customer base, managing revenue and volume targets, implementing product strategies, and maximizing business opportunities through understanding product applications, market, and customer dynamics within a specific sales region.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Identify, pursue, and engage with potential new and existing customers from lead generation to sales closure.
  2. Manage distributor performance and achieve sales targets.
  3. Develop customer-specific offerings from the product and service portfolio to capitalize on commercial opportunities in collaboration with management.
  4. Liaise with R&D and product management to initiate and steer product improvements and new development based on market needs.
  5. Own and manage customer relationships to foster alliances and partnerships.
  6. Negotiate contracts and supply agreements with customers.
  7. Collaborate with internal sales and manage the entire order-to-cash process.
  8. Achieve specific revenue and volume targets for customers and regions.
  9. Document customer feedback through structured CRM with scheduled visits.
  10. Implement sales and marketing strategies for the portfolio.
  11. Manage customer-specific initiatives aligned with sales and marketing strategies.
  12. Handle customer complaints related to sales, quality, and service.
  13. Gather and analyze market information for the product portfolio in each region.
  14. Manage the debtors' book and facilitate account queries.
  15. Coordinate technical support for integrating Valida into customer products and processes.
  16. Coordinate with Technical Product Specialists, Mills, and Logistics regarding non-conforming products or deliveries.
  17. Work with the Supply Chain Team to analyze customer needs and optimize routes to market.
  18. Anticipate business opportunities and act promptly to capture value.
  19. Support management in setting up and implementing sales and marketing strategies.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of sales and new business development experience.
  • Experience in personal care and home care markets is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong account management focus with a proven sales record in challenging environments; a technical background in Chemical Engineering or related fields is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.
  • Excellent reporting and systems skills: MS Office, Salesforce, CRM.
  • Experience with innovation processes in a B2B environment.
  • Willingness to travel multi-day regularly.
