Job Description

The Technical Project Manager - Building Security leads projects related to physical building security, cybersecurity, and Building Management Systems (BMS). The role requires expertise in security infrastructure, access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and cybersecurity protocols to protect buildings, assets, and occupants.

This position manages the full project lifecycle, from planning to execution and monitoring, ensuring seamless security technology integration. Collaboration with IT, facilities management, security operations, and compliance teams is essential to implement advanced security solutions.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical, risk assessment, and leadership skills, playing a vital role in securing smart buildings and digital infrastructure while ensuring compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of security projects, ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion.
• Develop detailed project plans covering scope, timelines, resources, and risks.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors to meet project requirements.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and report milestones.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity best practices.

Physical Building Security & Access Control

• Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of physical security systems, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and perimeter security.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.
• Integrate physical security with building automation and IoT devices.

Cybersecurity & Digital Security Infrastructure

• Implement cybersecurity measures for building security systems, IoT networks, and cloud solutions.
• Ensure encryption, authentication, and access controls are in place.
• Monitor threats, conduct penetration tests, and collaborate with IT security teams.

Building Management Systems (BMS) Security

• Oversee security aspects of BMS, including HVAC, lighting, energy management, and IoT devices.
• Secure network protocols within BMS and work with cloud platforms to establish secure infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with industry frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and IEC 62443.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Act as the primary contact for security projects, aligning expectations with business goals.
• Collaborate with various teams and external partners.
• Provide guidance and training on security systems and best practices.

Testing, Auditing & Compliance

• Conduct security testing and audits to validate system performance and compliance.
• Document incidents, vulnerabilities, and risk assessments.

Qualifications

Experience

• 7+ years in technical project management focusing on physical security, cybersecurity, and BMS security.
• Proven experience with access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, cybersecurity measures, and system integration.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, IEC 62443, GDPR, and SOC 2.

Technical Skills

• Physical security systems, cybersecurity for IoT and smart buildings, BMS security, IP networking, and cloud security solutions.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, or related fields.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Security: CISSP, CISM, CEH
• Cybersecurity & Compliance: ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CISA, GIAC
• BMS & Security: Niagara, Lenel, Genetec, PACOM

Language & Travel

• Fluent in German and English.
• Willing to travel within Germany for on-site engagements.
