Zusammenfassung

OHB SE in Munich seeks a senior software leader to drive the development of our satellite-simulator core modules. You will coordinate geometry, scene generation, sensor models, and ground processing while collaborating with OHB experts and partners.

You will craft technical concepts, manage backlogs, and ensure progress with international stakeholders. Strong programming skills and optics knowledge are required, along with German security clearance eligibility.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in a scientific or engineering subject (Earth System Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Signal Processing).
• Proficiency in optics, spectrometry or optical instruments.
• Knowledge of signal processing and mathematical modelling.
• Experience with image processing algorithms.
• Experience in scientific programming (MATLAB, Python) and understanding of algorithms.

Aufgaben

• Lead and coordinate the simulator core modules development (geometry, scene generation, sensor, ground processor, user module).
• Drive creation of technical concepts and requirements for the simulator.
• Manage and prioritize software engineering tasks and backlog.
• Ensure information flow between software team and international stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, schedule, cost and quality with project management.
• Identify, assess and mitigate software-product and project risks.
• Lead the evaluation of changes impacting scope, budget, or timeline.
• Prepare, organize and lead technical reviews and milestone reviews.

  • Geometry module: simulation of satellite and system-of-systems positions and orientations (LEO, GEO, etc.) at each time step
  • Scene generation module: modelling of the observed environment, including atmospheric effects and radiative transfer
  • Sensor module: representation of geometric, spectral and radiometric sensor behaviour tailored to mission use cases
  • Ground processor: ingestion and correction of sensor data, applying instrument-specific compensations
  • User module: execution of image-processing algorithms to extract mission-relevant information

Your Qualifications

• University / polytechnic degree or PhD in scientific or engineering subject (Earth System Science, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Signal Processing or similar
• Proficient in at least one of the following categories:
  
  • Technical and physical optics, spectrometry and optical instruments
  • Signal processing & mathematical modelling
  • Image processing algorithms
• Experience in scientific programming (e.g. MATLAB, Python), including a good understanding of algorithmic complexity and/or efficient implementations
• Strong skills in self-organization, prioritization and structured work planning
• High motivation, proactive mindset and strong sense of responsibility
• Outstanding communication, documentation and presentation skills
• Willingness and ability to obtain required German security clearance
• Fluency in English and German, both spoken and written
