About The Role

Are you passionate about technology and healthcare? Join our Berlin-based medtech startup on a mission to transform radiology with AI-powered software. Our CE-certified products, mdbrain, mdprostate, and mdknee, already lead the European market in automated MRI analysis. As we rapidly expand our product portfolio, we seek a Technical Product Owner who will delve into machine learning and product development challenges to bridge the gap between real-world user needs and AI technology.

Your Responsibilities

1. Shape the product direction: Collaborate with product management on the strategic roadmap.
2. Drive execution: Break down the roadmap into milestones, sprints, and prioritized tickets, taking ownership of delivery.
3. Own sprint planning: Ensure timely delivery of milestones through effective planning and backlog management.
4. Be the technical anchor: Maintain a deep understanding of AI solutions to guide architectural discussions and contribute technically when needed.
5. Act as tech liaison: Serve as the main contact for technical questions across teams and stakeholders.
6. Ensure compliance: Work with regulatory and QA teams to meet medical device standards and document technical details.
7. Support team growth: Mentor and guide team members in their technical and professional development.

Your Background

1. At least 3 years of experience in machine learning, ideally with exposure to medical imaging; junior candidates with less experience are welcome.
2. University degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
3. Interest or experience in product ownership, team leadership, and mentoring.
4. Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms and practical application.
5. Familiarity with version control, unit testing, and continuous integration; commitment to clean, maintainable code.
6. Clear and concise communicator, able to bridge technical and non-technical teams.
7. Independent thinker who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and values collaboration.

NICE TO HAVE:

1. UX understanding and experience with prototyping tools like Figma.
2. Experience with medical imaging standards (DICOM, PACS, RIS) and regulations.
3. Knowledge of SCRUM and agile methodologies.

The company's origins trace back to 2009, when their paths crossed with radiologist Prof. Henrik Michaely. Together, they envisioned a high-tech AI software for efficient medical imaging analysis to support radiologists daily.
