Technical Product Manager (m/f/d) for Sovereign Cloud AI Initiative

We help the world run better
At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

SAP started in 1972 as a team of five colleagues with a desire to do something new. Together, they changed enterprise software and reinvented how business was done. Today, as a market leader in enterprise application software, we remain true to our roots. That’s why we engineer solutions to fuel innovation, foster equality and spread opportunity for our employees and customers across borders and cultures.

SAP recently decided to combine and harmonize all SAP Sovereign Cloud offerings, establishing an end-to-end process for the Public Sector and regulated industries. The newly created Sovereign Services & Delivery (SS&D) business unit is part of SAP Customer Services and Delivery board with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP, which includes S/4Hana Cloud Private Edition, BTP including many applications and services built on BTP, SuccessFactors, Ariba, and Fieldglass. Sovereign Services & Delivery is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager (f/m/d) for the Sovereign Cloud AI Initiative.

In this role, you will:

  1. Become a member of the Technical Product Managers team in the Office of the CTO.
  2. Refine requirements, clarify these with stakeholders and ensure they are ready for engineering.
  3. Align with the GTM, Solution Management, and Portfolio Management teams, to get the pulse of the market, and create an external-facing product roadmap for upcoming SAP Business AI (AI Core, Joule) use cases catering towards these needs.
  4. Leverage the network you have built up over the last years to enable the delivery of AI services into the Sovereign Cloud portfolio.
  5. Utilize your deep knowledge on AI to gauge customer and SAP-internal stakeholders’ requirements against the existing product backlog.
  6. Help to design and establish the operational tooling required to deliver and operate AI use cases within a Sovereign Cloud information security boundary.
  7. Use your deep technical background of the AI architecture to help our SC engineers decompose requirements into small iteration cycles enabling continuous delivery.
  8. Push more tasks (e.g. scratch-install automation, operations harmonization, security hardening) upstream into the AI product team relieving our own engineers from repetitive tasks.
  9. Actively coordinate/project manage the work on requirements in the backlog in close collaboration with the AI and SC engineering teams.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  1. Good knowledge of BTP Runtimes such as Cloud Foundry/Kyma and general SAP technology knowledge.
  2. Basic knowledge of Gardener.
  3. Knowledge of SAP Business AI and understanding of its usage in SAP’s product portfolio.
  4. Expertise in AI/ML frameworks and Cloud AI services.
  5. General knowledge of hyperscaler infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and SCI.
  6. Strong understanding of the BTP Platform, tenant/account and commercial model.
  7. Experience with lifecycle/automation/CI/CD tools e.g. Jenkins, Hyperscale, ArgoCD, Concourse, Terraform, Ansible.
  8. Strong methodological and conceptual skills paired with analytical thinking.
  9. Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams; project management experience is a plus.
  10. Communication and interpersonal skills.
  11. Capability to influence without formal authority.
  12. Cultural awareness and intercultural competencies.
  13. Ability to build trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
  14. Decision-making and can-do attitude.
  15. Ability to work towards alignments and joint decisions in a matrix environment.
  16. Persistence, self-motivation, and willingness to work under pressure.

WORK EXPERIENCE

  1. Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field.
  2. Minimum 8 years development experience in at least one programming language.
  3. Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software engineering roles.
  4. Minimum 5 years of experience in developing, delivering, and maintaining an SAP application or service.
