Job summary

Groupe ADF in Hamburg is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of industrial equipment, overseeing technical teams and delivering cost-effective solutions that meet performance specs. You will develop technical specs, manage project activities, and produce documentation in line with Machinery Directive.

The role requires CATIA, 5+ years in mechanical design, strong systems knowledge, and leadership, with English/German communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of CATIA is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in designing industrial mechanical equipment within the engineering sector. Degree in Mechanical Design Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of complex and automated mechanical systems.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to propose innovative technical solutions.
• Skilled in project analysis and project management.
• Natural leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and guide project teams.
• Proficiency in technical and conversational English/German.

Responsibilities

• Designing cost-effective solutions to fulfil the functions specified in the customer's requirements specification, while ensuring the technical performance of the system.
• Management of the project's technical team
• Developing technical specifications for project requirements
• Monitoring the manufacturing and assembly phases, providing the necessary support to the production team
• Defining the checks and tests required to verify the performance of the designed system, as well as the key stages of assembly and commissioning
• Production of all technical documentation (in line with customer requirements and/or the Machinery Directive)
• Monitoring ongoing projects (design or calculation hours) / monitoring the technical progress of the project.
