Beyond Good AndEvil 2 is an action-adventure sci-fi RPG set in the same universe as Ubisoft’s original cult classic. You can now join our crew at Ubisoft Mainz to help us shape this amazing project with cutting-edge graphics.

As a Technical Director, you are responsible for the course and direction of our Tech-Art, Engine, UI, Tools, and Graphics Programming Teams in a co-development environment. Your main duty is to help them shape a coherent direction that is consistent across the teams.

You are the first point of contact for our partners in other studios. You regularly interact with other directors to align on vision and technical direction. You have the big picture in mind and ensure your teams are aligned on the vision.

You speak for your teams and ensure they are set up for success. You mentor your teams and grow new leads. You enable your team through autonomy and coaching.

What you will do :

  1. Mentor the programming and technical art teams and grow new leads. Enable your team through autonomy and coaching.
  2. Work with directors and producers to align high-level visions.
  3. Define guidelines to ensure technical realization.
  4. Contribute to studio strategic development, including recruitment, investment, portfolio, training, R&D, etc.
  5. Guarantee that our part of the game is delivered on time with the expected quality and craftsmanship across all target platforms.
  6. Define the team's requirements and technical constraints to realize the creative vision.

Qualifications

What you bring :

  • Extensive experience leading technical teams with an understanding of servant leadership.
  • Continuous learning about industry trends and latest technologies related to game programming.
  • Strategic thinking, with the ability to observe, reflect, challenge the status quo, and define the future.
  • Comfort with risk-taking in a complex environment where not every aspect is controlled.
  • Ambition for high quality, with the ability to guide a team considerately and assertively when needed.
  • Hands-on experience in gameplay, AI, engine, rendering, tools, online, audio, physics.
  • Deep understanding of related domains like game design, art, animation, production.
  • Ideally, knowledge of procedural generation techniques.
  • Experience shipping several games.
