The Technical Business Analyst (d / f / m) will work with cross-functional stakeholders from other Life / Health Units like Claims or Underwriting and with external clients (primary insurers and other partners) to understand their business needs and design, build, and operationalize the best-in-class solutions. In this role you will be responsible for leading business requirements, analysis and testing phases of a project. The Technical Business Analyst (d / f / m) also contributes to the overall planning, technical design and implementation of a project including process changes.
Position responsibilities include:
- Provide analysis, technical design and planning activities for business and technology initiatives.
- Determine and define project scope and objectives.
- Perform and document requirements gathering and analysis.
- Design high level technical solutions including frontends, databases and interfaces.
- Facilitate business process changes.
- Manage the product development team to create a strong end product (custom developed solution for Life / Health Reinsurance Policy Administration).
- Develop and implement test plans to ensure successful delivery.
- Schedule and lead meetings to identify and correct issues.
- Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
- Prepare solution for deployment including support staffing, documentation, maintenance procedures and training.
- Partner with cross-functional users across the globe to maintain and develop high quality solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Provide end-users support including business queries and requests.
- Provide technical assistance and cross training to business users and other team members.
Your Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Science or related field.
- Knowledge of insurance or reinsurance environment and ideally related to policy administration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as business analyst of custom software development projects through the full life cycle.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification or equivalent is beneficial.
- Strong working knowledge of agile development principles and processes.
- Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is preferred.
- Ability to communicate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues to a varied audience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work during flexible hours to coordinate with international users across different time zones (North America, Europe and Asia).
