As a Field Applications Engineer Team Leader, you will be a regional leader for our Field Applications Engineering team in Germany and Austria, responsible for pre-sales technical support, as well as on-site installation and commissioning of new products, such as our IQ Battery technology.

This role will be home office based, with a team of six Field Applications engineers based across the region. Alongside managing the team there will be some customer and site visits and occasional visits to our office and lab in Frankfurt and other Enphase locations to work with colleagues.

What you will do:

1. Manage a team of Field Applications Engineers based across Germany and Austria, responsible for both people management and technical leadership.
2. Be a member of the Germany & Austria management team alongside managers from other functional departments responsible for the same region.
3. Support the Sales Organization with battery and PV technical expertise and deep product knowledge.
4. Provide clear Customer Technical Requirements feedback to Product Management and Product Development Teams.
5. Develop and deliver documentation such as design guides, line diagrams, standard bills of materials, technical briefs, best practices, and training.
6. Provide onsite and remote commissioning training and support for install partners for PV and battery storage systems.
7. Support new product launches and introductions.
8. Execute customer-facing New Product Introduction (NPI) field activities.
9. Coordinate and execute field testing and feedback collection for new hardware and software.
10. Close cooperation and alignment with Customer Support and Field Services to deliver a best-in-class Customer Support Experience.

1. A minimum of 8 years’ technical and 2 years of PV industry experience.
2. A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a team supervisor or manager.
3. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience - preferred.
4. Fluent in German (minimum C1 level) and English (minimum B2 level) - essential.
5. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
6. Process-focused, highly organized and comfortable in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
7. Relevant local electrical qualifications/licenses preferred.
8. Practical and hands-on experience and expertise with distributed PV, battery storage, EV charging, heat pumps and energy management applications.
9. Hands-on expertise in troubleshooting electrical systems and data networks using tools such as multi-meters, power quality analysers, data acquisition etc.
10. Strong knowledge of local electrical and system regulatory codes.
11. Experience working remotely with strong self-management and interpersonal skills and a proven record of establishing and maintaining working relationships with customers, peers, and managers.
12. Willingness to travel locally, domestically and at times internationally as needed.
13. A passion for the renewable sector.
