About The Role

CODE is looking for a Team Lead, Marketing & Student Recruitment (f/m/x) to join our team in the heart of Berlin. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the university’s marketing and student recruitment efforts, by designing and executing integrated strategies that enhance brand awareness, optimize lead generation, and increase student enrollment.

Responsibilities

As a Team Lead, Marketing & Student Recruitment (f/m/x) we’re looking for someone who is able to take on the following responsibilities:

  • Strategy development and team management
  • Design and drive the implementation of aligned marketing and student recruitment strategies (integrating paid, organic, and offline marketing efforts).
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of marketing and student recruitment professionals, driving team performance in alignment with CODE’s strategic goals.
  • Establish and manage partnerships with external providers (agencies, freelancers) to ensure projects are completed efficiently and within budget.
  • Marketing & performance optimization
  • Drive integrated online marketing initiatives to enhance brand awareness, drive traffic, and generate student leads.
  • Identify, pilot and implement innovative marketing trends, tools, and technologies (e.g., AI tools, CRM automation) to enhance engagement and outreach efficiency.
  • Oversee social media strategy, content planning, and engagement to build a strong online presence.
  • Own campaign lifecycle: setup, monitor, and optimize Meta/Google Ads with a focus on ROI and lead quality.
  • Collaborate with designers to test creatives and landing pages—iterating based on data.
  • Implement hyper-targeted segmentation (e.g., by program, geography, or applicant stage).
  • Student recruitment oversight
  • Provide direction and oversight for student recruitment and admission efforts.
  • Work side-by-side with student recruitment professionals to shorten conversion cycles, improve follow-up systems, and hit enrollment targets.
  • Monitor recruitment performance and analyze funnel metrics (e.g., application drop-off rates), removing bottlenecks and refining strategies to improve lead conversion.
  • Oversee the admissions process, ensuring a candidate-centered experience and strong collaboration with internal stakeholders to optimize enrollment outcomes.
  • Analytics and reporting
  • Monitor and analyze marketing, recruitment, and admissions data to assess performance and identify trends.
  • Provide regular reports to leadership and other key stakeholders with clear data-driven insights to optimize marketing campaigns, enhance recruitment strategies, and improve conversion rates.
  • Develop and present actionable recommendations to refine outreach, admissions workflows, and budget allocation for maximum impact.

To be successful in this, we’re looking for someone with the following skillset:

  • 5+ years in digital marketing (performance marketing, CRM, analytics).
  • Experience in team leadership or being eager and prepared to take on a team leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing Meta/Google Ads campaigns, creatives, and landing pages.
  • Expertise in data-driven decision-making (Google Analytics, HubSpot, ad platforms).
  • Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in German and English (C1+).

Requirements

If, beyond this, you bring along any of the following, it would give our team an edge. Keep in mind that none of these points are requirements, though:

  • Background in higher education, edtech, or B2C sales/admissions.
  • Experience managing external agencies and freelancers.

We fully appreciate that the boundaries of your knowledge are where you start to grow, so don’t be discouraged if you don’t bring everything we need today. We want to create our future together.

For every position at CODE, we need you to meet the following requirements:

  • Having a German bank account to be able to get paid
  • The right to work and primary residence in Germany

What You Can Expect

  • Permanent contract
  • Full-time position (40 hours per week)
  • 60 000 EUR - 65 000 EUR per year (gross)

What We Offer

  • Join a diverse and collaborative community at our modern campus in vibrant Neukölln, designed to inspire creativity and connections.
  • Benefit from a flexible hybrid work model, balancing mobile work and spending time on campus to collaborate and connect with your team.
  • Access mental health resources and services through our partner, Nilo, tailored to support your personal and professional well-being.
  • Expand your knowledge with our Masterplan online learning platform, offering a variety of high-quality video content in both German and English.
  • Recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance with 25 days of annual vacation.
  • Plan for the future with our company pension plan, supporting your long-term financial security.

  • Build connections with your colleagues through regular gatherings, creating opportunities to relax and engage with the team.
  • Stay energized throughout the day with complimentary coffee, tea, and snacks available at the office.
