Lever Scott International is building a central AI & Data engineering function. You will own an established Solutions Engineering team from day one, shaping how it operates and growing it over the next 18 months.

The team spans upstream data platforms and ML model APIs, and downstream frontends and APIs used by other teams and business applications. You’ll own both and set engineering standards across the stack.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of software engineering with ownership of production systems.
• Strong cloud infrastructure and CI/CD expertise.
• Proven ability to lead mixed engineering teams.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Experience with governance, compliance, and AI-driven coding practices.

Our client is a large, well-established enterprise group building out a central AI & Data engineering function to serve the wider business. This newly formed Solutions Engineering team is the backbone of that effort — providing shared cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, API services, observability, full-stack engineering, and AI coding governance to the teams building on top of it.

You'll take ownership of an established team of engineers from day one, shape how the team operates, and grow it over the next 18 months.

The team works at two boundaries: upstream, connecting to internal data platforms and ML model APIs, and downstream, building the frontends and APIs that other teams and business applications consume. You'll own both.

What you'll do

• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of backend, fullstack, and frontend engineers — hiring, career development, and building a strong engineering culture
• Own cloud infrastructure end-to-end: IaC (CDK/Terraform), CI/CD, container orchestration, API management, serverless, and ML service integrations on AWS
• Set engineering standards: SLOs, observability, security baselines, incident response
• Build and maintain internal frontend platforms — portals, dashboards, and internal tools
• Own the integration layer connecting to internal data systems, backend platforms, and ML APIs
• Lead AI coding governance for the organization — tooling approval, risk tiering, audit and compliance processes
• Stay hands-on: contribute to architecture, review code, and support the team directly
• Shape a healthy engineering culture across a mixed backend/frontend team

What you'll bring

• 5+ years in software engineering with strong cloud infrastructure and CI/CD experience — you've owned production systems
• Solid grasp of infrastructure-as-code, containerisation, and API design
• A strong sense of reliability and operations — observability, incident response, and standards matter to you
• Experience leading mixed engineering teams and working cross-functionally with ML/AI engineers and business stakeholders
• Hands-on coding ability — this isn't a pure people-management role
• Fluent German and English
• Comfort owning governance and compliance processes alongside engineering work
• Genuine interest in AI — you understand how ML models, agents, and LLMs work, and see AI-assisted coding as part of how software gets built now
• Background in a cloud-native, hyperscaler, or enterprise engineering environment is a plus
